Wiley Companies has acquired Botanoceutical Products, Inc.’s line of cetyl myristoleate (CMO) products, including a CMO wax, CMO oil, and CMO powder.

Wiley Companies has manufactured a line of cetyl esters, including CMO, for over 20 years, the company noted, and the acquisition of BPI’s CMO line strengthens Wiley Companies’ ingredient portfolio and positioning in specialty lipid ingredients. The company is also the maker of AlaskOmega, a brand of omega-3 and omega-7 concentrates sourced from wild Alaska pollock.

“I worked on our first batches of. Cetyl myristoleate exactly 30 years ago this month, and today, I’m so excited that we’re making this big step to add BPI’s CMO products to our ingredients offering,” said Joshua Wiley, executive vice chairman and CFO of Wiley Companies.

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with Wiley Companies’ long-standing expertise in cetyl esters and our focus on quality, reliability, and customer support,” said Todd Johnson, CEO of Wiley Innovations.

Wiley Companies reports that it will utilize its technical capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing infrastructure to ensure continuity of supply and long-term support for customers.

“We believe Wiley Companies represents the strongest possible long-term steward for the CMO product line,” said Mark Erickson, CEO of BPI. “Their experience, manufacturing expertise, and commitment to quality give us confidence that customers will be exceptionally well supported going forward.”
