Kaneka Nutrients has begun efforts to identify and expose misleading claims from products claiming to contain ubiquinol in response to reports of increasing fraudulent products.

Kaneka Nutrients produces ubiquinol, the activated form of CoQ10, through a unique yeast fermentation method. The patented process results in a ubiquinol which is bioidentical to what the body naturally produces, and contains no impurities which may be found in synthetic ubiquinol/CoQ10 ingredients, the company reported.

“Kaneka’s Ubiquinol embodies decades of scientific research, human clinical trials, and innovation. We take our market and consumer responsibilities seriously,” said Terese Mansell, vice president of Kaneka Nutrients. “By exposing products that misrepresent their contents, we aim to prevent misleading claims that undermine trust, devalue authentic ubiquinol products, and compromise health outcomes.”

Kaneka Nutrients will conduct market surveillance and testing to ensure that products labeled as ubiquinol are authentic. It has disclosed its findings after testing 11 products; all 11 products tested contained either no ubiquinol or very trace amounts.

Kaneka Nutrients reports that it will pursue legal action and continue to publicly disclose its testing results and other actions it identifies as fraudulent activity.
