The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) announced that FDA Deputy Commissioner for Human Foods Kyle Diamantas will speak at its Convergence ‘25 event, taking place Oct. 8–10 at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis.

Diamantas leads the agency’s Human Foods Program, overseeing all FDA nutrition and food safety activities including those for dietary supplements. He sets the strategic direction and operations for food policy in the U.S. while serving as a liaison between the agency, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the White House. He also represents the agency in dealings with foreign governments and international organizations.

“Sitting down with Deputy Commissioner Diamantas for a candid, on-the-record conversation is a timely opportunity for our industry,” said Steve Mister, president and CEO of CRN. “Attendees can expect a substantive discussion about FDA’s program priorities and what they mean for supplement companies, from new dietary ingredient notifications and labeling to enforcement expectations and transparency.”

The fireside chat with Diamantas will take place as part of the “Breakfast with…” session taking place on the morning of Friday, October 10. It will cover the Human Foods Program’s current focus areas and broader policy context for supplements, such as evolving state actions on ingredients, renewed attention to GRAS processes, and ongoing implementation of FDA’s reorganization.

Other keynote speakers will include Jim VandeHei, co-founder of Axios and Politico, and Daniel Kraft, MD, physician, scientist, and founder of NextMed Health, addressing how to navigate the news cycle, and the intersection of healthcare and technology, respectively.

Other sessions will include a dive into consumer attitudes and purchasing behavior from Circana; a panel of third-party evaluators such as Canomiks, ConsumerLab, Labdoor, and SuppCo on how ratings shape consumer trust; a tariffs-and-trade session translating policy shifts into market realities; a panel of regulatory experts on navigating today’s landscapes; the “View from the Corner Office” CEO panel; and more.
