A review of four clinical studies found that a combination of Kyowa Hakko’s Setria glutathione and citrulline is associated with enhanced nitric oxide production, thereby supporting circulation, vascular health, and exercise performance.

Glutathione is an antioxidant with wide-ranging activity, and its role in active nutrition and sports performance is increasingly recognized. The review reports that glutathione and citrulline amplify nitric oxide pathways, significantly benefiting measures of exercise capacity and vascular health.

The review includes four studies, which conclude that the combination supports:

  • Improved nitric oxide production and bioavailability
  • Enhanced blood flow and vascular function
  • Potential benefits for exercise performance and recovery

Glutathione has long been studied for its role in protecting cells, supporting detoxification, and maintaining immunity. However, its benefits go beyond basic wellness, noted Katie Emerson, senior manager of scientific affairs. “This is where science meets innovation, and it’s a must-read for anyone looking to optimize their health and performance,” she said.
