Nutrafol Becomes NSF Certified for Sport, Partners with MLB

Nutrafol is the first hair growth supplement to earn the certification.

Nutrafol just entered a first-ever, multi-year sports partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) as its official hair growth partner. The partnership will launch with the 2025 postseason and will extend into the 2026 season. The sponsorship will center around fan-first moments and celebrate the game and hair health on and off the field.

Nutrafol is the first hair growth supplement to achieve NSF Certified for Sport, the only third-party certification program recognized by MLB. This certification ensures that Nutrafol’s supplements are tested and verified for MLB players’ safe use.

Hats Off

The partnership will begin with a ‘Hats Off’ campaign during the postseason, celebrating the game and hair health through everything from fan experiences to custom content. The campaign will highlight exciting moments during games across Nutrafol’s and MLB’s channels, including social, digital, and MLB Network.

Some campaign highlights will include:

  • Postseason testimonials from recognized baseball personalities as ambassadors sharing their experience with Nutrafol and why they trust Nutrafol’s supplements
  • Ballpark fan experiences, including a ‘Hats Off’ section at select ballparks across the country with in-game fan engagement as well as surprise-and-delight moments throughout the postseason
  • Custom integrations, such as a ‘Hats Off’ digital highlight series showcasing standout plays or comebacks. Brand signage will also backdrop reliever warm-ups and epic entrances in MLB bullpens
  • Hats Off to the World Series Sweepstakes, which will launch on September 29, lasting until October 15, in which baseball fans can enter for the chance to win a grand prize package that includes World Series tickets, a year’s supply of Nutrafol, merch, and more.

In 2026, the campaign will focus on the long game. From spring training in February through the 162-game regular season and month-long postseason, the campaign will educate around long-term hair health maintenance and holistic well-being. Nutrafol will activate baseball personalities as “hair captains” to tell their hair journeys and experiences using Nutrafol’s hair growth supplements. The campaign will cast a light on Nutrafol’s whole-body approach to hair health, addressing root causes such as stress, hormones, nutrition, and lifestyle.

Earning NSF Certified for Sport

Nutrafol has achieved NSF Certified for Sport for its Nutrafol Women, Men, Postpartum Women’s Vegan, and Women’s Balance supplements. The supplements have also earned NSF Contents Certified, following a separate product evaluation.

The Certified for Sport Program ensures that the products have been tested for nearly 300 banned substances and potentially harmful levels of contaminants like lead or arsenic. The certification also covers product formulation, label claims, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

On top of NSF’s testing, each formula undergoes additional safety assessments from toxicologists to validate nutrient and ingredient amounts, and to ensure compliance with FDA regulations. Its formulations have been validated in clinical studies on a diverse range of populations.
