MeriCal Appoints Susan Hazels Mitmesser as Chief Science Officer

MeriCal, a company specializing in innovation and manufacturing of dietary supplements and functional products, has appointed Susan Hazels Mitmesser, PhD, as chief science officer.

Mitmesser has over 25 years of experience in nutritional biochemistry, product innovation, and regulatory strategy. Prior, she served as chief science officer of Pharmavite LLC, and also held senior scientific leadership roles at The Nature’s Bounty Co. and Mead Johnson Nutrition.

Throughout her career, Mitmesser has led more than 100 clinical trials worldwide; launched nutrition products in several global markets; and established partnerships with global scientific and regulatory bodies.

At MeriCal, Mitmesser will oversee the company’s innovation, research and development, and technical operations functions while working along with internal and customer-facing functions to bring new innovation to market. She will be responsible for strengthening MeriCal’s scientific leadership, driving innovation, and deepening customer engagement.

Mitmesser holds a PhD in nutritional biochemistry and has authored several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations at international scientific conferences. She is engaged with academic institutions and serves on advisory boards for global health and nutrition organizations.
