Thorne Launches Pre-, Pro-, and Postbiotic Supplement

Thorne recently launched Complete Biotic, a three-in-one formula containing a prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotic formulated to benefit bowel regularity, stool consistency, intestinal comfort, and growth of beneficial bacteria.

The product comes in a frosted orange-flavored powder format, which can be poured directly on the tongue, and it dissolves rapidly with no water required. It is suitable for both adults and children over the age of four.

According to Thorne, many benefits will be noticed over time when taking the probiotic.

After two weeks, it helps support normal stool consistency in people with occasional constipation or diarrhea. After a month of supplementation, expect a better balance of “good” bacteria, improved minor intestinal cramping, and support for healthy cholesterol levels. After two months, the supplement may support GI immune function in children. After three months, the formulation may improve overall quality of life measures, stool consistency, and emotional wellness in individuals with occasional GI upset.

The prebiotic in the formula is PreforPro, a clinically-studied bacteriophage that targets undesirable bacteria in the gut to create space for health-promoting bacteria to flourish. The probiotic in the formula is a Bacillus subtilis strain to promote GI comfort, regularity, and other measures of a healthy microbiome. Lastly, the postbiotic is a heat-treated Bifidobacterium longum, one of the most prevalent species in the GI tract, to support immune function.
