Swanson Health has achieved an ‘A’ rating for its manufacturing facility in Fargo, North Dakota, under NSF’s NSF/ANSI 455-2 Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification program for dietary supplements. Swanson has maintained a GMP certification through NSF since 2010, and transitioned to the 455-2 certification standard in 2022.

Swanson Health was founded in 1969, and offers 1,500 vitamin, mineral, and other wellness products to meet a wide range of health needs.

“Earning an ‘A’ rating from NSF is a true testament to the integrity and quality behind every Swanson product,” said Jim Hamel, CEO of Swanson Health. “NSF’s certification process is among the most rigorous in the industry, covering everything from ingredient sourcing to manufacturing practices, and we’re proud to meet and exceed those standards. This rating reinforces our commitment to delivering supplements our customers can truly trust.”

The NSF/ANSI 455 GMP standards are designed to strengthen safety, quality, and trust throughout the supply chain, combine regulatory requirements with retailer quality requirements, and reduce the number of audits and their associated financial costs.

“The NSF/ANSI 455 GMP mark indicates that an NSF auditor has audited a facility, checked documents, and deemed the facility compliant with GMP regulations for production,” said David Trosin, managing director of global health sciences certification at NSF. “We’re very pleased to grant NSF/ANSI 455 GMP certification to this Swanson manufacturing facility.”
