2025 Top Dietary Supplement Companies and Brands

U.S. dietary supplement market sales reached an estimated $69.3 billion in 2024 on 5.2% growth, according to Nutrition Business Journal, including more than $13 billion on herbal supplements, as consumers continue to incorporate preventive, proactive health measures into their daily lifestyles.

The menu of products available to consumers continues to expand as well, including everything from multivitamins to condition-specific formulations that target precise needs at particular life stages.

The ways that consumers get their supplements today is as diverse as the products themselves, with a blend of traditional brick-and-mortar outlets (including natural retailers, supermarkets, and big box stores), e-commerce platforms, direct-to-consumer websites, practitioner-recommendations, MLMs, and social media.

The companies and brands that make and market dietary supplements represent a mixed marketplace. For example, Amway ($7.4 billion in global sales) and Herbalife (about $5 billion in global revenue) remain among the top “direct-selling” companies while many large, multinational players have sizable market share, including, Nestlé Health Science (Vital Proteins, Garden of Life, Pure Encapsulations, Orgain); Haleon (Centrum, Emergen-C); Bayer (One A Day); Procter & Gamble (Align, New Chapter, MetaMucil); Unilever (Olly Nutrition, Liquid I.V., Smarty Pants, Onnit, Nutrafol), and Abbott (Ensure, Glucerna).

In this issue we’ve built on our past coverage of dietary supplement companies that have significantly impacted the market. In 2023 we profiled NOW, Ritual, Nestlé, Jamieson Wellness, Carlson Labs, and Gaia Herbs. In 2024 we profiled Pharmavite, Nature’s Way, Thorne, Nordic Naturals, and New Chapter. This year we’ve profiled five more companies that represent a range of players in this competitive industry.
